FAQs
What is neuroperformance?
Neuroperformance focuses on how the nervous system regulates, processes, and responds under pressure. Rather than training mindset or motivation, we work directly with nervous system function to support focus, recovery, emotional regulation, and execution.
How is this different from sports psychology?
Sports psychology focuses on thoughts, behaviors, and mental skills.
MNDLab works at the nervous system level using applied neurotechnology. Our approach does not involve talk therapy, mindset coaching, or motivational work. We support how the brain and body regulate and adapt under performance demand.
What technology does MNDLab use?
We utilize:
LENS Neurofeedback — an FDA-cleared EEG biofeedback system
Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) — a research-informed auditory intervention based on Polyvagal Theory
Both are non-invasive technologies used in clinical and performance environments to support nervous system efficiency and adaptability.
Is this safe?
Yes. Both LENS and SSP are non-invasive and well tolerated.
LENS does not electrically stimulate the brain. It delivers an ultra-low energy feedback signal while measuring real-time EEG activity.
SSP uses specially filtered music delivered through headphones to support autonomic regulation.
Temporary mild effects (such as fatigue or increased awareness of sensations) may occur as the nervous system adjusts.
Do you diagnose or treat medical or mental health conditions?
No. MNDLab does not diagnose or treat medical or psychological conditions.
Athletes should always work with licensed medical professionals for injury, concussion, or mental health concerns. Our services operate within a performance framework and may complement existing care.
How many sessions are typically needed?
For LENS Neurofeedback, most individuals complete 5–10 sessions to experience meaningful shifts in regulation and performance. More sessions may be recommended in cases of significant neurological stress or head trauma.
The Safe and Sound Protocol is typically delivered as a 5-week program, with listening frequency adjusted based on individual response.
Programs are personalized based on goals and nervous system presentation.
How quickly will I notice changes?
Some athletes report shifts within the first few sessions. For others, changes build progressively over time.
The timeline varies depending on baseline regulation, stress load, and performance demands.
Is this only for athletes who are struggling?
No. While neuroperformance can support athletes navigating stress or recovery, it is equally used for optimization.
Many high-performing athletes use neurotechnology to improve consistency, recovery, and execution under pressure.
How does this integrate with existing training staff?
Our work is designed to complement strength & conditioning, sports medicine, coaching, and performance departments.
We integrate into the existing environment without disrupting training schedules.
Do you accept insurance?
MNDLab operates on a cash-pay basis and does not bill insurance.
Our services are delivered within a performance model rather than a medical treatment framework.
What does pricing depend on?
Investment varies based on:
Scope of engagement
Number of athletes
Duration of partnership
Level of on-site integration
Because we work directly with teams and organizations, cost per athlete is significantly less than pursuing similar services individually.
Our goal is to make high-level neuroperformance technology accessible while maintaining precision and quality of delivery.
